Maryland MGMA is very excited to offer a six-part Body of Knowledge boot camp series that will educate and help prepare our members to tackle the everyday challenges practice managers face. So no matter if your interest is preparing for the CMPE exam or just a thirst for the general knowledge to help you run a successful medical practice, this series is for you. 

Topics on hiring and retention strategies to be covered include:

  • Considerations for developing your staffing plan.
  • You’ve hired them.  How do you keep them.
  • Performance feedback vs. Annual review.

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT – This section accounts for 17% of the CMPE exam. In medical practice management, human resource management requires demonstrating effective staffing strategy, recruitment and retention, training, a performance evaluation process, a personal commitment to enhancing your knowledge base, and compliance with employment law.

Ann Marslett joined Triangle Health Alliance as Executive Director in November 2017.  For eight years prior, she served as practice manager at Rheumatology Associates of Baltimore. Prior to joining this practice in 2009, Ann served in many different roles in a variety of healthcare environments including hospital administration, wellness programming, and both integrated and private practice settings.  Ann earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Management and Leadership from Notre Dame of Maryland University.  She holds a special interest in public health with a focus on health policy.
